The Naxxar Locality is a town, spread over an area of eleven square kilometres in the central north of Malta, with a population of over 13,500 inhabitants (2013). At the centre of Naxxar is the Parish Church which is dedicated to Our Lady of Victories. The village feast is celebrated on September 8 with a week-long celebration and festivities preceding this special day. Naxxar was formerly known for the Maltese International Trade Fair Grounds.
The whole locality comprises the Naxxar centre, Sgħajtar area, Santa Marija tax-Xagħra, San Pawl tat-Targa, Birguma, Magħtab, Salina, Baħar Iċ-Ċagħaq and part of Madliena.
